Display layout adds Margins, can I get rid of this?

all of my "regular" tabs start at position 0. I have the option to change the default margins from 15 to whatever works for me.

HOWEVER, when I use DISPLAY LAYOUT, there is an inline statement added to the div with "style=margin: 10px 10px, 10px 20px"

Is there a way to remove or change this?

No, unfortunately not.

I wish there was also!! I have the exact same scenario in all of my BSVs.

UMM, unless VLAD (who I HOPE is listening) changes the next version to NOT add the margins and instead, lets the user (yea, thats ME! ok, and you.. but mostly ME!) control that in the OUTER and INNER margins of the layout.

DISPLAY LAYOUT shows content panels of a VP. Each content panel has an option for margins. Are you saying they don't work?

Actually I stand corrected. DISPLAY LAYOUT in V7 does honor the outer margin settings.

V6 did not handle this properly.

but on a related issue.. all new tabs which are opened via 'direct output to' have preset inbuilt margins, such that you can't maximize use of screen real estate.
AND they are not equal, left margin is larger than the R and T, and T is smaller than R.
This is frustrating when you need all the screen width and height you can get.
They should be equal. And I think they should be only 5 not 10 or whatever they are. Below image show their unequalness:

VLAD, inspect the code, you have an INLINE Margin Statement with all of the Tabs created with DISPLAY LAYOUTS that looks like: margin: 10px 10px 10px 20px

So you are adding that to whatever we have in the OUTER and INNER margins. if Outer is set to all zeros, it still has your margins. Can you remove that? Pretty Please???

Bruce is right.
Default margins on new tabs opened should be 0 (not even 5 as I suggested), and it should be up to the configurer to Display a Layout if they want to have margins.
Otherwise, the query, form, etc., which is opened in the tab should finish flush with the inside edge of the border of the frame.

We have tested this and it seems to work fine - margins specified in the content panel properties are respected (both inner and outer ones).

I think there has been misinterpretation.
Unless I have misinterpreted, I think we're all talking about how there are default margins applied to new tabs when they are opened, and so even if the margins of your Layout or Content Panels are '0', there is still a margin applied.
And so, you can never make the object inside the tab actually occupy all the real estate of the tab pane. This was shown in an image I previously posted:

There ARE standard margins that Aware IM uses in certain situations, such as when the user performs an operation the result of which are displayed in the current tab ("Default") or when a new tab is opened. There is no control over this at the moment. Allowing configurators to control these is part of the package of improvements that "pureist" proposes.

YES, but what Bruce is proposing and others in this top are all supporting, is that IN THE MEANWHILE, the default inbuilt margins for NEW TABS are set back to ZERO, not 10,10,20,10 or whatever they are now.
This does not mean the user having control now. No one wants control now. Supporters just want them default margins set at 0 so they can maximize use of screen real estate.
This means you would remove them in the next maintenance Build, so that new tabs do not open with 10,10,20,10 default margins like they do now.
Additionally, this will lay the ground for the Future enhancements I am proposing, subject to funding (being a '..' options dialog being available when output is directed to a new tab in which you would set various defaults [as listed several times recently]).
BUT RIGHT NOW, all people are asking for is the the inbuilt default margins on a new tab are set back at 0,0,0,0.

They won't for Display Layout, as you would define them there.
For Queries and Forms which open in new tabs, Zero might or might not look 'awful'.
As a compromise, until my proposed enhancements are afoot, perhaps change them to 5,5,5,5 in the meanwhile, which is good for Mobile especially.
