We are experiencing an issue with the AwareIM Configurator on Windows server.
It doesn’t show up when clicking the yellow / green button in the AwareIM Control Panel.

We didn’t change anything. It appears suddenly.
Rebooting the server didn’t help.
The server and Tomcat appear to be running correctly, but the Configurator does not start from the AwareIM Control Panel.

Environment:
AwareIM installed on Windows Server
AwareIM Server: running (status OK)
Tomcat: running (status OK)
Configurator: shows “Started” in the Control Panel
Java: bundled JDK in D:\AwareIM\JDK
Web access works normally

Web access:
Externally we access the system via: https://cloud.fintechpeople.nl:8444/AwareIM
Locally on the server we access the admin login via: http://localhost:81/AwareIM/logonAdmin.html
This works correctly.

I’m wondering why there are messages in the control panel: “Unable to determine business space version for user”. Is this related to this issue ?

Problem:
When clicking Start Configurator in the AwareIM Control Panel:
No second Java process appears
No Configurator window opens
Only the Control Panel remains running

On another server with the same setup we normally see two AwareIM icons in the taskbar (Control Panel + Configurator). On the problem server we only see one icon.

Diagnostics performed:
We checked Java processes using:
D:\AwareIM\JDK\bin\jps -lv
Before and after clicking Start Configurator.
Result:
No additional Java process is created.

We also verified that the web server works locally and the admin login page opens.
UIConfig.props (problem server):
HostServer=localhost
HostServerPort=9000
WebServer=localhost
WebServerPort=81

OperationMode=http://localhost:81/AwareIM/logonAdmin.html
This appears correct because the local admin URL works.
We compared this with another working server where the Configurator starts normally. The configuration is almost identical (except that the working server uses port 80 instead of 81).

Batch script used to start the Control Panel (startAwareIMc.bat):
cd d:\AwareIM\bin

set JAVA_HOME=..\JDK
call setenv
%JAVA_HOME%\bin\java -Xmx192m -Xms20m -cp %CLASSPATH% com.bas.controlcenter.ControlCenterApp -c

The Control Panel itself starts correctly.
However, the Configurator window never appears.

Questions:
What conditions must be met internally for the Configurator to start from the Control Panel?

Does the Configurator require a successful connection to a specific port (e.g. JMS broker on 61616) before opening the UI?

Are there logs or diagnostics that show why the Configurator start is aborted?

Could this be related to a mismatch between server ports and the values used by the Control Panel?

Any guidance on how to diagnose why the Configurator does not start would be greatly appreciated.
