Hi Himanshu,
That sounds really interesting. Did you do this development yourself or with assistance from Awaresoft? Also, do you mind sharing how you did this and/or possible a BSV for the Codestore?

Hi Henrik,

We integrated twilio with AwareIM without Awaresoft's assistance and achieved a good success. Along with SMS and Voice calls integration, we have also created IVRS and CTI (Computer Telephony Integration). Unfortunately, I can not share the bsv as it includes my other business flows/logics as well but I will be happy to help you. You can get in touch with me @

I need to be able to send notification/reminder SMS (Text message) to users from server side, just like we do mass emails.
What's a good solution to build such feature?

you can use URL_CONTENT to do all the work you need.
we integrated telerivet service with this function alone and it's working fine.
i setup "sort of a hub" IIS server that accept only from AwareIM URL request and JSON encode the request and forowred it to telerivet. easy and work with any service provider you want.

From the research I've done so far, Twilio REST API seem to be the most popular now and ClickATell looks like is not used as much any more. It's more like the old Paypal API.

It would be great to look into this and see what it would cost for Support to develop a REST API for Twilio as a plugin.

No, only PhoneNotify (cdyne ) which works well. For one way SMS I use my own mass SMS plugin with Clickatell.

Whatsapp uses Clickatell for their registration process. Would be nce to have 2 way sms AND Whatsapp plugin 🙂

Yes, the existing Clickatell plugin works great. I might be interested in getting 2-way SMS through Clickatell but need to check coverage in my region first (Scandinavia). Last time I check it wasn´t supported. Are other developers interested, I will look into it.

I am still interested in Twillio or any other provider that can integrate phone capabilities, IVR (and video calls as well) etc. etc. in Aware IM and Twillio is great, especially if it has been done, tested and proved to work well (Himanshu can hopefully chip in with comments about this when/if he sees this post). I would be interested in looking into a REST integration with Twillio so if other developers are interested, please comment here.

PS: Whatsapp integration would be incredible as well, I didn´t even know that was possible?

Something like this would possible work? Has Phone, SMS, Whatsapp and other messaging clients and also a chat api (+ some other cool stuff it seems). 1 integration to rule them all?:
