V8 Configurator Mac / Remote Combo

So v7.1 there was a way to set the app to launch just the configurator when you were running with a remote server.

At the moment to launch the configurator in a local Mac remote server setup requires showing package contents navigating down to the Resources/Java/ConfigTool/Contents/MacOS/ConfigTool and then running that from the terminal.

I've done this three times now and I am bored of that game.

I tried moving the folder to a higher level and when I did that it cried about not being able to find the Java, I tried a bunch of other things and it cried about not being able to find other resources.

To be honest its kinda messy having to run the terminal to get the Configurator to run and there must be a tidier way to do it.

(I'm also quite grumpy from spending the day migrating AIM onto another server as it is a PitA to do, so I'd really really like a cleaner install method).

May I offer some assistance sir;

1) Go to Applications / AwareIM -- Show package contents
2) Copy the Resource folder (you don't need all of that, but why work hard) to a new folder. In my case it is called AwareWillow
3) Edit the ConfigTool.ini in the ConfigTool / Contents / Eclipse folder just like the install PDF Tells you
3A) Edit the UIConfig.props in the bin folder just like the install PDF tells you
4) write a shell script to cp to the ConfigTool / MacOS folder and ./ConfigTool

6) Smile and drink some vodka

I think vodka in the afternoon is a wonderful idea, but I don't think it conducive to my state of mind at the moment...

I'm not sure I understand why cp? Do you mean cd?

darn. after some Tito's vodka over ice, CP and CD look so very similar. Of course you are changing to that folder.
