In my quest to understand what is happening under the sheets, I've spent this afternoon fiddling with log4j.
I've come across a number of interesting options for logging including JDBC to database logging. Has anyone attempted this? I thought it might be a more useful method of managing log files, but am willing to be told, 'No Sean, that is a very silly thing to do'.
The fall back file related options are RollingFileAppend or DailyRollingFileAppend that I am going to start fiddling with.
