UTF-8 in MS-SQL

Does anyone know how to store UniCode (UTF-8-) Text in an MS-SQL DB with Aware.

From what I can see, the only way MS-SQL will accept UTF-8 is using the NVCHAR data type. However, Aware assumes VCHAR.

Works ok with MySQL but not MS-SQL.

Any workarounds?

Maybe handle it on the DB side with a trigger that takes an input field from Aware IM and then populates some field with the standards you want created in the DB that Aware IM reads?

sure, AIM assumes VARCHAR, but have you recreated the table with the fields changed to NVARCHAR? what happens during add/update operations?
I'm unsure about two things:
1) Using normal ascii chars, i wonder if aware would even know about or complain about passing those to the nvarchar field.
2) using your funky chars (i'm not even sure how to type those), I wonder if AIM would pass those to the backend properly anyway?

I was not able to change VCHAR to NVCHAR.

So, I installed MySQL and tried it and it works fine.

It is Mongolian. 😉
