Currency Display

Hi,

Can't seem to figure this one out, I have a field that is numeric and the format is set to Currency, when I am in an edit form it behaves fine but when it is displayed in a table on a form from a query or when the bo is used as a child from other bo's the field displays NaN ?
Any Ideas?

What are you using for the format of the Number Attribute Callum?

Are you using something like #,##.00 or some other variant?

If you want currency try this..... Just use....

Thanks Mark, I had just selected currency under the format button next in the attribute setup on the bo,.. it gave a format of $###,##.##

I tried n, it will display the number fine, I had worked out I could display a number fine just not if I had the currency radio selected...

I think that dialog is a bit screwy.

Kendo has a really weird way of dealing with numbers.

I really don't "get it" but found n works for most of my needs

I agree 100%. It needs to be re-worked and offer a better multiple choice with sample showing.

Did this problem get fixed? I am trying to use a custom format to display currency (GBP £). It is fine in forms but will not display in grids just get NaN instead. If I remove the £ symbol from my format then it works fine.

I really need to display the currency symbol inside grids and I also have thousands of currency attributes throughout my application. Don't really want to change thousands of attributes just to display properly in grids! Hope this can be fixed or I am missing something!

Do not use currency symbol as part of the number format. If you need to display currency symbol in grids use the "display format" property of the grid's column.

Not really an answer to your question but I wanted to chip in.

I have avoided currency formats throughout and relied on a number field and a reference field to define currency. The challenge with the currency is that there are a number of currency symbols that are not unique within the Kendo framework - specifically $ - it doesn't differentiate between A$, C$ and (from memory) Brazilian Reals among others.

Appreciate that this doesn't help you if you have already defined a number of attributes already.

I take the correct Currency Code from here Currencies

And then I use either the Code, the Country Flag or a combination of both.
