Visual Perspectives - HTML/CSS Panel - Data Refresh

Hi,

We are trying to add a few "panels" to a Visual Perspective which would refresh even 120 sec.

As Example: If we wanted to show - Total Users Online (as example) - it would refresh and grab the data from a BO.

** Has anyone tried or solved this?

How are you "grabbing the data from the BO"?

If the panel is ultimately is displaying the result of a query, is there something preventing you from using the auto-refresh settings of the associated query?

we have HTML "imported" into a panel section which is using Data tags. <<object.attribute>>

To make sure I'm following ..

Are you saying that the data contained in object.attribute has been refreshed via AJAX and is available client-side, but the UI needs to be refreshed to display the updated value?

Have you tried putting the HTML in a cell on a form then use AutoRefresh every x seconds on the form?

Hi,

Why not the form approach: So the "HTML" has to look a specific way (meet UI criteria) so the Form option does not allow that unless we write a Custom Presentation. But it is a viable back option worst case.

The approach we always knew was, create the HTML/CSS + Data Tags to get the Data.

Thanks for the refresh tip. That may work and we will try it and let you know if it solved it.

In the perfect world, the Query "Display" options would allow HTML to re-format the XML/JSON payload. Then we could use the built in auto-refresh as suggested above..

I just noticed this option to refresh a Static HTML panel and it reminded me of this post. You've been an AwareIM user much longer than me, so you probably already know about this. But on the off chance you don't, I thought it may be worth mentioning.
