HTML Text Attribute in normal report

Has anyone worked out a way to include an html type Text Attribute in a normal (not Word, html, excel) report?

One of those things I had never done before and got a bit of a shock when it didn't work.

Displays the text but also includes all of the tags which is obviously not how you would expect it to be.

Comment and advice appreciated.

I believe you will have no success with this. For the same reason you cannot display a rich text value on the report - it simply cannot parse it and AFAIK, it doesn't know what HTML is...

I'm not sure whether it would meet your use case, but we have a situation where we need to present html values in reports and to get round the issue of the tags etc, we have a trigger at the database level that when the html cell is created, it parses it and creates a calculated field that is clean of the html. This is what we use in the report.

Are you saying that your trigger simply strips out all the HTML tags, including those for formatting? So your result field contains only plain text, correct?

Hi... Yeah, for us, it's used with incoming and outgoing html emails. We strip all the html out and present the plain text in reports.

HTML in reports is not supported.

BUT, it is supported for all other types of documents. This is the latest addition to version 6.0 (and 7.0, of course).

To get Word document to display HTML use this syntax:

<<Object.HTMLAtttribute,html>>

Note comma delimiter and "html" postfix.

You need the latest build of 6.0 or 7.0 beta

Any chance of it being added to normal reports Support?
Would make things a whole lot easier.
