Display Document in IE makes Browser go Modal

I have an app that does something similar, so I used it to test. I got the same behavior in Chrome.

In IE, I clicked the Open option like you did in your video. After a long pause, the Word doc came up on the screen. I was then able to click close on the IE window & did not experience the issue that you did. I did not have to refresh the browser or close the session.

When I instead chose the Save option in IE, it was much quicker and also allowed me to close the window without any issue.

I am using IE version 11.0.9600.18105

Have you tried making sure the DISPLAY DOCUMENT is the only rule in the process to ensure it's not something else causing this behavior?

Have you tried using the IN WINDOW parameter so it uses the browser pop-up instead of the Aware IM modal.

That did it. Now in Chrome spawns a window that it didn't use to but it's for a good cause. IE is a POS.

Our folks all use Chrome. KK, I have not tried IN WINDOW -- would you suggest I just stick with the the other presentation?

If you add IN WINDOW, it will just spawn a new window to hold the download. If you are exclusively Chrome, I would leave as is...
