Protecting Fields in Specific Form

I often have a need to Protect a specific field on a form but don't want to use the 'PROTECT object.attribute' function on the object itself because I need that attribute to be editable on another form for the same access level.

Has anyone ever achieved this and if not this would be a very handy feature to have in the future. Thus you would then be able to Protect attributes on a specific form.

I've had the same challenge & wish there were an easier solution. What I've done is set a flag when running the process to edit the attribute in question. The flag can then be used to give a condition to the PROTECT action. Where you store the flag and how it operates would obviously depend on your application. In some cases it might be stored in the BO being edited while in other cases perhaps you would store a flag in LoggedInRegularUser.

Have you thought of using a separator to hide the attribute based on some condition.

On the form you do not want the attribute to be editable, just display it as html.

Exactly, that's what I was going to suggest. Plus, you can show or hide it at runtime based on conditions right in the html section.
