Unfortunately I don't have an update on this other than support have said they can't fix it because they can't find the problem, or, if it even is a problem with AwareIM.
I have managed to demonstrate the problem to support on my own server whilst screen sharing with them and I have also provided them with sample BSV's in the hope that they can reproduce the problem but they can't.
For that reason they are of the opinion that it must be something specific to my server set up, ie windows, database, msword versions.
I've come to think that it isn't even a specific problem with user defined documents as I am now getting the hang about once a week in business spaces that don't even use UDDs (support also don't think it's related to UDDs) but rather frustratingly I have never had this issue before I started experimenting with them. I have had the same server for more than 2 years and have been happily running word merged documents without such issues until a couple of months ago when I started with the UDD functionality.
Worse than frustrating is the fact that the only way to fully recover from the hang is to shut down AwareIM and manually kill the javaw process. It's never nice having to shut down part way through the day and kicking many users off across many business spaces. In fact it's bloody painful!
Weblike: Are you still also still getting this hang? What version of windows / db / word are you using?
My setup is as follows:
Windows web server 2008r2
MySQL 5.5
MSWord 2007 professional
It is an 8gb machine
Would love to hear from people that have same setup as me but don't get this error and also from anyone else that does get this error.
