Refresh banner or footer pane?

Hi all,
I have various status icons in e.g. the footer pane (tag expressions to e.g. a COUNT function counting BO instances) and the values change continuously when a user works in the application and therefore when a value changes the footer pane needs to be refreshed to show the new value. Is this possible in anyway or is a reload of the browser window necessary?

Has anyone come across something similar or had this problem and if so how did you work around it?

Have you tried an HTML refresh code? Use one of the meta refresh tags. That might work. I used one in my banner, and a problem I was having stopped so I think it worked? :/

Something like <META HTTP-EQUIV="refresh" CONTENT="15"> where CONTENT is the number of seconds. Place in the head code of your banner code, if it has.

You might be on to something. I tried it and the full browser window refreshed and frooze but the fact that something happens is interesting and might work with some tweaking. I will play some 🙂.

I'm thinking now that the banner might work like an iframe, in which case try this: http://www.daniweb.com/web-development/javascript-dhtml-ajax/threads/145743/iframe-reload-with-settimeout

That should just load the banner and not the whole page. I realise I'm glossing over the footer as I've never used a footer in Aware but I'm going to hazard a guess and say they are similar?

Thanks again Mark and yes they are the same. I am trying different things and now a footer status bar and all works except the refresh problem 🙂.

I couldn´t get it to work with the html, not the first you (Mark) suggested and not with the second one (iframe) either. I also tried having a button to refresh the pane but that didn´t work either. I am leaving this for now but will come back to it later.
