AwareIM as a service Tomcat port

This has been a frustrating exercise. I've always run via the Control Panel but today decided to try running it as a service. First installation went fine and all was ok as all settings are standard. Tried on a second installation where the Tomcat port has been changed from the default and several hours later still not working! I have searched the forum and tried several things there and read the manuals again but to no avail. I've changed settings in the server.xml file in Tomcat and looked at the Basserver.props file.

It just seems a complicated process and one that I can't get to work. Is there a simple instruction to say what to change when trying to run AwareIM as a service WITH a Tomcat port change.

Reverted back to running it via the Control Panel which works every time.

Hi Rod,
I run Aware IM as a service and i have changed the tomcat settings. You will find all the instructions i used to get it to work in the post below. I had different issues when installing Aware IM and i had to change the port to get Aware IM to work. I changed the port (tomcat port and server port, see post below) and after that it worked. I am not sure this is the same issue you have (i couldn´t even run Aware IM through the configuration tool before trying the port changes) but might help.
