Multiple copies of email sent sometimes

I have situations where multiple emails are being received. Has anyone else had that situation? My gut feeling is that it's somehow related to BCC, but have been able to get to the bottom of it yet.

I'm having the same problem over and over again and reported it to support many times. Opened a ticket for it as well but it never got solved. I don't use BCC so it's probably not related to that.

In my situation it happens randomly and sometimes the same email is send up to 6 times.

It's really annoying.

Check your Rules or Processes....may be they are fired up at the same time.

Aware IM DOES NOT send multiple e-mails. There was a bug at some stage but this was fixed and since then we never encountered this problem.

Check your rules as Powerm suggests and also keep in mind that Aware IM keeps re-sending unsuccessful e-mails which could not be sent due to connection problems. It keeps these messages in the UNSENT folder. When the connection goes up all these e-mails go through. You can confuse them with multiple e-mails sometimes. If you don't want them you can delete this folder manually.

This has never been an issue for me in the past but today a process, that has been working perfectly, has sent me over 500 emails.

Had to restart the server to stop it.

I have no idea why! :-/

Please check your rules. There is no chance Aware IM does it on its own.

Or maybe your SMTP server went crazy...

Well.....

I call a process and many sub-processes from a Rule on Received Email but once it finishes the processes (which it does successfully) it re-runs the Received Email Rule over and over again.

I have even tried to delete the received email at the end of the process and still seems to execute it.

All nighter trying to fix it. 🙁

Can you to try to reproduce it in a very simple testing BSV with one simple rule that handles incoming e-mail?

Yay!

Finally fixed it.

Took the Rules from ReceivedEmail and moved them to a Process called OnReceivedEmail

Then left only the following Rule for ReceivedEmail

ReceivedEmail IS NEW

OnNewReceivedMail
DELETE ReceivedEmail

Phew!
