Exception updating /locking business space version

I'm having an issue with Saving an Imported XML Business Space.
(version 5.3 build 1533)

Please try the following:

Create a blank business space
Update the business space on the server (this works)
Export to both .bsv and .xml formats
Import .xml version
Update the business space on the server (DOES NOT WORK)
- Error: Exception updating /locking business space version null
Import .bsv version
Update the business space on the server (this works)
