Memory for the Server Process

Memory AwareIM Server:
Memory Tomcat:
Memory JBoss:
Memory Configuration Tool

In order to speed up the Process based on the Rule.. which one should increase more memory?

And more, does Tomcat/Aware make use and advance of multicore processors and multi processor servers?

Does a multiproc server speed up Aware or does it use only one processor?

This would be good to know. I've been assuming it is Tomcat, but not being familiar with this stack I don't quite know were all the pieces fit together especially the role of JBoss.. I would also be curious to know if there are plans to support Java 64-Bit out of the box? not critical info, but would be nice to know.

1) Tomcat memory should be increased if you have many concurrent users
2) JBoss memory should be increased if you transfer large chunks of data between client and server - such as large documents and/or pictures
3) Configuration Tool memory should be increased if your BSV is large
4) The rest is Aware IM Server - all other issues related to the application performance, such as rule processing, database operations etc etc etc. The Aware IM Server is the most important component and you should give it as much memory as your server allows

Multi-processing capabilities depend on the version of Java used. You can run Aware IM with any Java version, including 64-bit. It's very easy to replace the built-in Java version with the version of your choice. We have no plans yet to integrate 64-bit out-of-the-box just yet.

Many thanks for the information..

My Server have 4GB.. I want the Maximum Memory for the AwareIM Server since it take care the processing the rule.

I enter 1000MB. there is no problem to activate the AwareIM..

But when I enter 1200MB, it cannot activate the AwareIM Server.

How do i know what is the Maximum MB to enter?

I believe it is 1024 unless you upgrade to 64-Bit Java

I would like to run AwareIM with the 64-bit version of java.

It's very easy to replace the built-in Java version with the version of your choice.

It may be easy, but what is the best way to do it?

1) replace the contents of AwareIM\JDK with the corresponding files from the 64-bit version.

2) in startAwareIM.bat change
set JAVA_HOME=..\JDK
to point to the 64-bit version

Renaming the folder is safer. Rename standard JDK to JDK32 and use 64-bit JDK as AwareIM/JDK.

You also need to copy the file tools.jar from 64-bit JDK to AwareIM/Tomcat/shared/lib directory
