Dynamic Choice List in Editable Table

Is there any way for tables with inline edits and dynamic choice lists to show the same kind of dropdown shown when the choice list is static ?

I would like to allow my admin users the ability to tweak choices, but don't want them to have to learn the GUI tool and publish a new BSV just to change a few choices.

Sounds like you need "user defined choices"? This is available in the Developer version

So, I found it, and used it, but there appears to be a bug?

My BO is in a reference table allowing inline editing.

Once I add a new choice, it does not show up in the inline-edit table.

Am I doing something wrong ?

Not sure I understand the problem properly, but user defined choices are only available in forms - they are not available in queries.

Nothing to do with queries.

BO A and B. A has a reference attribute allowing multiple B's. B has a field X where I setup choices in the GUI tool AND allow admins to add choices on the fly using the user defined choices feature.

When viewing an A, there is a table of the related B's in the form, which is editable. The field X with the choices shows a dropdown of the allowable choices. This dropdown ONLY shows the choices provided in the GUI tool, not the ones added later by the admin.

Hopefully I am doing something wrong, but otherwise, in this case, the user defined choice list is broken and useless.

I had never used this feature before but now notice the issue you are talkng about. BSV being sent to support.

Want to also make sure you realize there is a work around. You can set up a BO called X and make X a reference attribute to B. As a reference attribute, you have complete control as to who can Add / Change / Delete the list of values.

At the moment user defined choices are not available in reference tables - they are only available on forms like I said.

If you want to use them in editable reference tables please use the workaround that Tom suggested.

Does the workaround also provide the choices in the inline-editable reference table ? I don't understand it or didn't do it correctly if it does.

Ok, I figured it out. It requires a shortcut. I have quite a few of these fields in my BO so its a pain. Thanks for your help Tom!

How about choices based on a custom query. I just tried 1420 and it doesn't appear to work. It does work in the form.
