Visual Perspective HTML banner background color

All,

Does anyone know how to get the background color for a visual perspective banner to match the background color set for the html?

I have a standard banner that I use for all visual perspectives that is html imported into each vp. I would like to change the background to black. I assumed that exporting the current html banner and then adding a tag in the body to specify the background color would work. Unfortunately after import the background is still white. The html itself looks as expected in the browser.

Here are the two methods that I have tried:

Method #1:
<BODY bgColor=#010101><P><IMG border=0 src="image.gif"></P></BODY>

Method #2:
<BODY><P><IMG border=0 src="image.gif" background-color="#010101"></P></BODY>

Don't use the BODY tag. Put the contents inside <DIV> and assign style to this DIV:

<DIV style='background-color: #...'>
... Your banner HTML here

<DIV>
