Ability to add CSS styles to fields on a form, so that different fields can be displayed with different colors, fonts etc. Conditions can be specified when a field will be displayed with a particular style 2. Ability to create recurrent appointments that create real instances of recurred objects in the database (in the previous version all recurred appointments were "virtual"

I tried the form styles attribute for a drop down selection attribute. I like the results but unfortunately the styles are not dynamic. It looks good post save though.

I assumed I would be able to get around the lack of dynamic ability by checking the ‘Save form when selection changes’ option this did force the form to save but unfortunately it causes the form to throw all validation errors that exist on the form. Is there any way to make the styles dynamic for the selected criteria?

I can picture this functionality being applied to drop down values similar to the ‘Icon rules…’ although I know they are different types of functionality I don’t believe users will be able to fully capitalize on this awesome new feature unless it is dynamic.

I know we all just like to ask for stuff, but considering this feature, would it not be possible to display or hide an attribute based on a condition similar to other display/hide capabilities on a form?

kklosson is right - if you want them to be "dynamic" you need to define conditions for each style and rules with dynamic recalculation. Should be quite achievable.

I understand that a rule set as dynamic can be triggered when the form is live without having to trigger a save but could you give me and example of how to trigger the form styles to updated when a drop down value selection is change without saving.

I am not sure how to call the styles out in a rule and I could not find it in the documentation.

Ultimately what I have is a drop down with each possible selection set with a different color of text and background to represent the severity of a trouble ticket. The drop down field is all black text (it would be great if the formatting also applied to the values when shown in a drop down) until I save and then the appropriate color is applied to the text that was selected. I would just like to have the formatting applied to the text without a save needing to be triggered.

Any example of this would be great.
