WSDL file generation on server

I posted this in the general discussion section but thought it might be more appropriate here.

I have a bsv that exposes a webservice that works fine locally when placed on our server where the AwareIM folder under tomcat has been renamed it does not produce a WSDL file that I can access. I am not sure if the two are related but it seems to be the only feasible difference between the two environments that would cause this.

can you export the space, re-import, publish, re-start aware, test?

I have published my bsv and logged in as admin. I also added data that would be supplied via the webservice call as the admin. Unfortunately I am not seeing any wsdd files in the C:\AwareIM\Tomcat\webapps\AwareIM\WSDD.

Locally this url works to show the webservice
http://localhost:8080/AwareIM/services/webservice?WSDL

Error returned navigating to the ?WSDL on the server is:
AXIS error

Could not generate WSDL!

There is no SOAP service at this location

This process worked without issue on my local machine. The only difference between my local installation and the server is that the AwareIM directory under webapps has been renamed on the server.

Unfortunately I ended up with the same result after running these steps.

Can you please verify that renaming the following folder per the instructions listed in the Tips and Tricks post is not an issue for the creation of WSDL files?

C:\AwareIM\Tomcat\webapps\ETS

Correction the default folder name is

C:\AwareIM\Tomcat\webapps\AwareIM

Hi Bryan

Did you get any clarification from Support concerning if renaming the Aware install folder causes web services to fail?

We have a similar experience. We have renamed the AwareIM folder in the install and we get the error there is no SOAP at the location.

(We have published and logged in as required)

This problem was resolved in one of the latest builds (can't remember which one). You may need to update to the latest version.

I apologize for not closing this thread with the solution. It was addresses and resolved in build 1330.

Has this been broken in version 5.1?

I can create the WSDD files on my test machine with the default AwareIM folder name, but not on my production machine where the folder has been renamed. :cry:

we have renamed default folder, and cannot generate the WSDL

The above works - However if your application has a changed "Folder"

http://localhost:8080/TEST/services/TESTWebservice?wsdl

The above - Does Not work any longer in 5.1a Build 1446

Can support let us know when or how we can resolved this?

Have you tried resetting the AwareIM server and logging into your application?

If I remember correctly, that fixed my problem.

thanks bob for the responce,

we did the following with no luck

1) after publishing the BSV
2) shut down configuration tool
3) shut down awareim
4) restart server (power cycle)
5) re-open AwareIM
6) login via web (aka loginAdmin.html)
7) all working

but we try and goto the URL we have Axis Error, no WSDL as this location etc..

a) Folder renamed
b) 2 BSV's same Server

What and How can we resolve this?

Is Webservice part of your Business Space name?

I just use
http://<server:port>/<folder name>/services/<Business Space Name>?wsdl

Better yet is anyone using the Web Service at all?

If not this explains why we are waiting for a response from the community

Plenty of people are using web services as far as we know

so if users are, and support responds - could you take 1 min, and consider our specific issue and comment:

where can we troubleshoot?
what config files maybe looked at?

the basic what's -> in any troubleshooting scenario, so the end customer can mitigate there own problems

Hi Ninap,

I always find that it is better to purchase a support ticket if you have an issue that you are unable to figure out on your own or via the forum. It sounds as if you have issues that are specific to your environment and not something that others are experiencing (as I use Web Services, have a renamed folder structure and never have any problems).

Typically forum communities tend to limit interaction with users that expect too much and offer little...this might be your issue.
