tabs on forms loose focus after adding new data

I have a form that has 3 tabs on it.

Each tab has an 'Add New' button allowing the user to add releated data.

If you select the third tab and add a new record, after saving the form returns to the main form but focus has been reset to the first tab.

The user has to click the third tab to view the data added or to add more releated data.

Should this retain the foucs of the third tab?

You might be able to work around this by making your "Add new" run a custom process. I THINK the custom process will then present a modal form "on top of" your form with 3 tabs.

Are you sure? In our tests the focus is not lost. How can we reproduce it on a simple example?

I have tested this with the patch for trees and the focus is now retained
