Problem with build 1212

A plain text attribute using standard format does not expand beyond 1 line.

This is a major problem for us. Something changed to the plain text attributes between version 1210 and 1212.

To test this problem. Create an attribute of the plain text type. Go to presentation, and enter 20 in the 'number of line' field. Preview the form and you will see that the attribute height is only one line instead of 20.

This has been tested in Firefox and IE and the same results.

Please update this quickly.

I just saw this morning that build 1213 has been released. Looks like this will fix this issue.

Hi,

I'm experiencing this issue even with build 1213. Even my previews of Object forms display incorrectly. Tests in all browsers are the same - short one-line fields. Very weird !

The Numer of lines, and the Width(symbols) settings are having no effect at all. The Width(pixels), odly enough, is working.

As you can imagine, this has completely changed all my forms - resulting in considerable chaos.

This is a very serious major problem - has anyone a resolution ?

We are quite sure that this particular problem has been fixed. Have you tried to refresh your browser?

The browser refresh fixed the field sizes in my recently created forms.

Interestingly, older forms which were created in much older builds don't obey these configuration options. And stranger still, if I create a brand new form which includes these older attributes, they don't display correctly on the new forms either.

I've reset the presentation options in both the object attribute presentation section and the form's attribute presentation section, but it makes no difference.

Any suggestions ?

Most probably you are changing presentation options on the attribute, but they are overridden on the forms. Check your presentations options on the forms.

There is no way this problem could have affected any of this. If it works for new forms it must work for all others as well.

But as I mentioned earlier, I have set the presentation options both on the attribute and on the form, and no matter what settings I configure, the forms will not present as configured.

Here's my last post on this -

There's definitely something weird somewhere and I'm quite happy to accept it may be peculiar to my BSV.

In the configuration tool, when I set the presentation options for both attribute and for form, here's what happens:

When I set the Number of lines to 1, it displays as 1.
When I set the Number of lines to 2, it displays as 3.
When I set the Number of lines to 3, it displays as 4 and so on.

The Width(symbols) doesn't affect the presentation at all.

I'm going to live with setting my required three line presentation to 2 in the configuration too and setting the width by pixels. This works 🙂

All new attribute fields configure and present correctly.
