I have a BO with an attribute that is the 'Document' type. I have been able to click on the document in the application, use the dialog to select a file and upload the file. This works perfectly. My problem is when trying to then view the document, both the .doc and .xls extensions cause a pop-up to flash and then go away. Any files that can be viewed in a web browser seem to work fine. In the past, when I clicked on the view the document would open (if it was a Word doc) in the application.
I am using version 4.6 (1204) with IE 7 and I do have MS Office installed and the documents do open fine if selected from their location on the computer...just not from the view button. I checked this functionality from another computer and found the same problem with IE 8.
I checked this with pop-up blocker off completely and it is the same for both IE 7 and IE 8. There has to be a workaround to this otherwise we can't get to the files.
