Cannot edit attributes in V4

I'm new so treat me gently guys.

Ok I created a database existing external BO and linking to a Mysql schema I acquired the attributes and then immediately changed the BO type to Aware IM Automatic. then pressed the create button.

Problem is - whilst I can edit the attributes, I can't rename or change the attribute type or even delete unwanted attributes

I CAN however add new attributes, so it's not a major problem It would have just saved me a few hours work. It may become more of an issue if I decide to run with this app and take on more clients .

Am I using the right technique - What do the "Not persisted" and "Custom" options do.

One for IM Support maybe??

I should have added that my ultimate goal is to take an existing MS access app and regenerate in Aware. I have two tables (there are more but If I can do this for two I can do all of them).

One table (members) has a linked table (renewal history) Members is the parent, history records are the children. The unique key is (surprise surprise) MemNum (membership number)

How do I import both tables and tell Aware that the reference field in History is the Memnum field? so that AwareIM can generate whatever reference links it needs to generate

On the first post, maybe you could try to copy and paste the BOs that were automatically created by your MySql migration to a new BO --- even in a new BSV. I'm thinking you might be able then to have total control over the attributes.

2nd post -- You can check out the sample applications -- they import the sample data when they initialize the application. The csv files are found at C:\AwareIM4\samples\Ordering for the Ordering application.

Tom's advice is a good one. It is best to re-create the objects as native Aware IM objects by copying/pasting attributes and import the data using CSV (you can even import relationships this way)

Re the attributes, If I right click the attribute in the left hand menu structure, I can delete it. So there's a bit of an anomoly there.

I hear what you are saying re recreating the attribs BUT there are dozens of tables and hundreds of fields. It would be really great to have full control over them once acquired and save hours of work.

Maybe in the next build???
