v4 - XML returned ... does not have 'root' element

I've noticed a few other message where users have received "XML returned from the server does not have 'root' element" but I haven't noticed any in reference to using an EXTERNAL database.

We are receiving this error when we attempt to display a form of an external database. The list view appears fine so it must be some attribute not displayed until we attempt to access the Main form for the BO.

Any suggestions?

Is it just a particular external table that causes this problem or any external table? If it is a particular table could you please provide its structure here, so that we can try to reproduce the problem?
