Hi All,

I am wondering if someone has a suggestion.

I am producing a Point of Sale application for a client using AwareIM.

They have 5 shops, each shop has a receipt printer connected to machine.

For every transaction a receipt has to be sent to the receipt printer in the store that the transaction takes place.

Problem.

The Print Document action will only print to the default printer attached to the server which is many mile away from the store.

I cannot have a situation where the users have to generate a pdf first then print to the printer attached to the computer.

Has anyone had a similar problem and if so how did you get around it.

There is no way in a web based system to send a document directly to the printer of the client machine. The easiest solution is to display a receipt on screen as HTML, text or PDF and then get the user to print it.

I think text will work.

How would you show the line items on the report.

If it's a report, use the sub-report feature, if it is a Word document - use the special LIST_ functions. Iterations on sub-lists are not supported for other types of documents.
