format of query export using M/d/yy h:mm a

I have a query that uses M/d/yy h:mm a which properly displays on the screen as 5/13/07 5:34 PM. When I click on export, it opens up in Excel as 5/13/07 17:34. Looks like it is still carrying the 24 hour formatting.
