It would be nice, even though Vlad doesn't ascribe to this naming convention, if when we used Mark's "best practices" naming convention of prefixing reference fields with:
ps_
om_
sc_
etc.

that when you add that field to a table, Aware would strip the 3-character prefix automatically FROM THE DISPLAY LABEL.
Because thats something that has to be done manually EVERY TIME.

I doubt anyone wants "sc_Customer" as a column heading in a grid or a screen label.
(PS. Remember, Aware already applies some logic to 'beautify' this screen label. This is just 1 more rule to add to that already existing code.)

Would be a nice little intelligent feature.

Of course, using the prefixes outweighs the current inconvenience but it's be a nice to have all the same.

I also follow the same @Mark best practices to have prefixes as standard in development. And the idea to strip something like would be very useful.
Or AwareIM could provide a operation to apply Label value if needed like when it is consumed on many grids, forms or other places.

Ideally, rather than being locked into using my offered Pre-fixes.....

Aware can add theses to The Setting Menu for the Developer to decide for themselves...

So, in Control Panel / Settings... we have a Global Developers Settings Tab... In there...

Reference Prefix Options ON / OFF (If off, then Aware behaves exactly like it does now)
If ON then the following can be entered by the Developer....

Owned By Reference: ob_
Owns Many Reference: om_
Owns Single Reference: os_
Peer Single Reference: ps_
Peer Many Reference: pm_
Shortcut Reference: sc_

Optional - Auto Strip Prefixes From Labels and Query Headings? Yes / No

Could also go a step further and allow the Developer to additionally set their own Font and Colour for each.
