It takes several minutes for an outgoing email to be sent since we upgraded from 8.8 to 9.0.
It used to be instantaneous as far as I can remember. The encoding also seems to be different, because some characters like åäö are displayed as question marks in the email.
We used to run with the outgoing email settings located at "Business Space Version -> Outgoing emails", then "Use values below:".
When troubleshooting this, I was not even able to enter the "Outgoing emails" window due to an error message. I had to click the X button to reset the SMTP settings to circumvent it. This is how the error looked like:

I re-entered the SMTP server settings like it was before, and still faced the problem with slow sending and weird encoding. I decided to move the settings to the SystemSettings BO, still the same problem.
- When viewing source of the email inside Outlook it looks fine. UTF-8. Just like before.
- The text files located in the UNSENT_EMAIL folders also look okay.
- I even tried sending the email to a completely different mail service, foreign letters still look crappy and the delay is still there.
- Regarding the SMTP server, it is our own. It is really quick when testing it via WordPress for instance. I just tested it to make sure the delay doesn't reside in the SMTP server.
