Stuck emails v8.6

One of my OFFICE365 sites had a email password expire.
So email for two days backed up and went into the unsent mail folder.
I updated the password with office 365, and put that into my system settings, outgoing mail password.
New mail will go out immediately.
But a lot of the old email is “remembering “the old password I guess.
The log fills up with unable to authenticate messages.
I have restarted aware to no avail.

Can anyone confirm that somewhere in there it saves the Outgoing, Mail server credentials , even though they are no longer valid?

Did you ever get an answer to you question about old credentials being remembered or find a solution to getting your unsent emails sent.

I am facing a similar situation where unsent emails are not being resent.

FYI: I just upgraded to Version 9.0 Build 3275

Bob, I just had this happen on an v8.8 2 to 3 months ago.
The Mail provider forced an email password change, and someone changed it.
That same account was used for outgoing email in aware.
On this system, it was using the outgoing email in system settings.
There were weeks of backed up email and it started running once I updated the password and saved the system settings form.
I had to set several apps to the same password, so after I change one of them, I just copied and pasted the Password in SSMS.
Thinking it would restart, but it never did.
Only the act of literally re-entering the password inside the app and saving the form made it fire back up.
