Passwords with non-english alphabet characters not working

We have discovered an issue with passwords that contain certain characters, like ö for instance.
It is possible to set a password that contains ö, but you can no longer login after that.

For instance, if I change my password to "räksmörgås" (shrimp sandwich 😃 ), and then try to login, I will get this error:

Invalid credentials or access denied. Please try again.

This error is in all business spaces I have tested with.

We are running Awareim 8.4 (Build 7213) and MySQL Server 8.0.16 on Windows Server 2019 machine.

Would be interesting to know if this is an AwareIM issue or database issue.
