AwareIM in Cuba

A potential new customer is asking if AwareIM does work in Cuba.
Because others apllications like SalesForce, Paypal doesn't seem to work there.

They are in Cuba and want to try/buy Aware IM?
Are they able to download the Trial?

A wild guess, but I think the question might have to do with whether there is a trade embargo or not. Especially the US have very strict regulations when it comes to doing business with Cuba.

But...But...But... AwareIM is NOT a US product!!!

I can understand why Salesforce, paypal and other applications that need to connect to a server could be blocked, but AwareIM does not require to "phone home". So as long as there is a local server to run it on, then all should be good. If they expect to access an application that is based in a different country, then it is important to make sure that the Cuban government does not block that URL. (I am sure there must be "friendly" countries to cuba that have servers.

But wait. As long as the customer in cuba has some sort of PC, (or mac, or linux) computer, they can certainly host the awareim app.

Thanks replying all..

In the meantime the Cuba-customer was able to test some AwareIM-demo's in their country.
They did not face any problems.
So we don't expect any issues when we deploy an AwareIM-app to be used in Cuba.
