I have a requirement (replacing a system that has this) to have a filter perform the search after each character is typed. I.e. if I have a filter on 1st name, when I type B all names starting with B are selected, then when I type an R all starting with Br are selected... And, I am still waiting (patiently) for a Non-persistent LoggedInRegularUser that persists only during the session. For temp variables, etc. with NO need to read / write to the back end database. Over the years, several people have had issue with having to create fields in LIRU just to use for temp storage... a great use to pass a simple value to another process and in some cases, it might be a several-1000-byte field if you needed to hold a combo box list, or JSON string, etc. etc. All that data gets constantly transferred (unnecessarily) when aware does "Select * from RegularUser" tons of times behind the scenes. Having another BO like "SystemVars" (to go along with SystemSettings & RegularUser) where we can define fields and, since its NP, disappears when the session ends would be great.

Not in a rush, but i think the following would be nice. 1. An AwareIM licensing server so we can migrate our licenses without the need to manually request. Purely so that when its 1:00am on Saturday..we have a method. :) 2. Rehash on the licensing methods.. ie Developer but with the ability to run two config tools without the need and limitations of a single user license. 3. a method where we could hook/lock custom plugins (from developers) to AwareIM instances. IE: If i write some custom ubeat jar that 'does something special' , id like to be able to request from the customer a code... then they supply it to me and i compile that code into the jar to keep the plugin with that installation.

- Better mobile app features, options and especially for native app building. The current version for Aware is great as it can be customized for web (including accessing webapp on tablet/mobile) but when it comes to actually creating real, professional etc. native apps on IOS/Android, I think it´s limited. I have not dabled a lot with the current options though but think I know what can be done and is not enough for most scenarios I have. I am not entirely sure what can be done in terms of "native app builder" but some builder where we can in a visual way possibly create an entire native app (UI so entire app UI + logo + startup screen + colors etc. etc.) and where we can click and choose which native features the app should use e.g push notifications, camera, contacts, calendar, swiping, top device info bar integration, full screen option etc. etc. etc. etc. + better offline management + better security/login/profile e.g local on device saved credentials and profile so the user downloads and installs app and then configures it with credentials and the credentials is saved locally i.e the user then just opens the app and is already logged in etc.. + better online/offline detection/notification i.e when the user has no internet, a nice customisable notification is used and the app is closed of something like that + x, y and z. - - - -

Bruce[/quote] The vast majority of my LIRU needs would be removed by the ability to have VP Listener panels. At the moment a Panel can drive Output to another Panel. Which is fine as long as you only have one Panel driving one other Panel. In instances where you have multiple Panels that are driven by a master record you have to rely on Auto Refresh of Panels and either an ID attribute or an Object recorded in the LIRU. If Panels were able to listen to another panel (or auto refresh based on the contents of that master Panel changing and being able to capture the new object in that Panel). It's possible at the moment, but requires a lot of processes.

Is there a way to implement a push message to logged in users? Using the strategy developed in the example CRM application, I’m contacting the server every 30 seconds to update badges in my top menu. I don’t even have any users running in production, and if you look at the server output there’s a long line of indications of that process hitting the server. When 10 to 20 users are logged in, and you look at the server output window, it’s going to be a steady stream of lines getting posted to it as sessions are banging the server to see if they have an updated badge. While this was good years ago, and from a marketing perspective, it made the CRM app look cool, is there now not some better technology ( i.e. a push technology) to use instead of all the users constantly hammering the server? Note: in the grand scheme of things, this really may not be an issue. One query per user pulling up 20 items probably has more impact on the server than 20 users updating a badge count. But I would still think it makes sense to have a way to push a message to a user session built into aware. This includes one user process doing something that would send a message to another logged in user. Like when an incoming email comes in to a user, send a message to that session that an incoming email has arrived. It may not be that frequent. But in order to program for it, you would have to hit the server every minute of the day when 99% of the time there isn’t going to be a new email waiting.

I need a built-in way attached to a control, especially a combo box, to clear the value in that field. … Other than using the escape key. Or, an improvement to the “include empty text” option, which currently puts an undefined option at the bottom of the list. If this could be the word or something similar at the top, that would probably suffice.

Lets say that i created a new business object and inside this object i created the following attributes:

FirstName
LastName
Phone
Email

Aware IM will display it like this:

Email
FirstName
LastName
Phone

What we need is to be able to display attributes with the same sequence for the entering in the first time, this will be in addition of sorting alphabetically witch is already working now.

As I understand there are two ways to work with documents:

Download, work with it, upload
Work with the built in Office components

What would be VERY nice to have is a more “file server like” access. The ability to open a file just by clicking on it and then save it directly to the server.

To explain a bit more, like a drivemapping (G🙂, (this may require a plugin though) or using WebDAV or something like i MS Sharepoint.

If this could be achieved then the use for fileservers could be eliminated in many companies and we could certainly sell a lot more licenses of AwareIM. You could also work with other documents than those in MS Office and build large documenthandling systems that easily could compete with the really expensive ones.

It would be nice if there was a function fi. CHECK_IBAN to check an IBAN number for correctness. For me it would suffice if this function only returned true/false for a correct/incorrect IBAN account number. No need to calculate the correct check digits for an incomplete number.

Some quick research also pulls up Apache Commons Validator which seems to provide a series of routines for the validation of many different standards. No idea how complex this is but it may provide a faster mechanism to achieve this being integrated into AIM (but IANAJD) https://commons.apache.org/proper/commons-validator/apidocs/index.html?org/apache/commons/validator/routines/DomainValidator.html

If this is a viable source then it provides validations for IBAN, ABA, EAN13, ISBN10/13 credit card numbers (format validity not account verification). I could use a bunch of these.

Hi, I checked for REST calls before, but I couldn't find any free service. All I could find where paid resources. For my client, as a real dutch guy 😃 , this is not an option.

The integrated log viewer is a significant improvement.

Could it be enhanced by returning the ability to inspect the contents of a line please? At the moment double clicking on a log line doesn't do anything and it is not possible to copy the line to paste into a text editor. This means you have to open the log file then find the line you want.

Also could the logs be migrated to their own directory instead of the Bin directory.

Currently the data returned from a REST API is automatically parsed into persistent BO's which saves to the database in one step. Most of the time the data returned from a service is temporary, meaning there is no need to go through the expensive operations of "saving" it to the database and then query it to get a set of records that can be iterated, displayed, etc. Maybe allow the JSON response data to be parsed into collections of non-persistent BO's as an in memory data set?
With JSON.parse and JSON.stringify available in a process, the hope is that the developer has flexibility to manipulate the JSON returned to / sent from the AIM server.

Would like to be able to fix panels position.

If Panel 3 is of indeterminate length there is the scope for it to flow off the end of the screen and if you scroll to the off screen bottom of form it takes Panel 1 and 2 with it. I'd like to be able to say Panel 1 and Panel 2 fixed and let Panel 3 scroll up and down. Though potentially if I could have 100% high forms this may alleviate this issue.

I know I can fiddle with CSS to make that not happen, but CSS is hard and I am not real clever but I can lift heavy things. Well medium heavy things. OK I don't have a lot of upper body strength either.

The ability to display a message when a BO rule has fired - right now you can't as it throws an error along the lines of 'this requires a user intervention' and doesn't save the record. I don't want to use REPORT ERROR as that doesn't save the record either.

Maybe a new 'DISPLAY NOTIFICATION' action which we can use in BO rules and is just a popup/asynch style message - that displays without affecting the commit to the database.

Using the 'Execute process after save' only really works with Bo.Attribute='xx' and they hit that particular save button, or like a generic 'Form saved' success message.

Can't fire on WAS CHANGED,
Can't display the message if an attribute has 'save form on selection change' ticked.
Can't do a one off message without putting tick boxes or something to stop it firing a second time.

Example - It'd be nice to be able to do IF Bo.Status WAS CHANGED to 'Contacted' THEN DISPLAY NOTIFICATION 'Reminder: enter a contact reason'

The way to do this is store a warning (or warnings) in a separate attribute. Initialize it to UNDEFINED in a high priority rule:
Object.Warnings = UNDEFINED

Then accumulate warnings:
IF Object. Something WAS CHANGED Then
Object.Warnings = Object.Warnings + ';' + 'Something was changed'

Then in the process executed after Save:
IF Object.Warnings IS DEFINED THEN
DISPLAY MESSAGE Object.Warnings

Still a few limitations - They have to hit the save button for that method to work, the 'save form on selection change' ticked doesn't kick off the rule, and it can't be dynamic, so couldn't do it as they work their way through the form. It'd just be an info dump at the end.

Plus it'd be impossible you wanted to do like 4-5 little notifications as they work through a form, like a sort of wizard helper, it'd just be a big info dump when they hit save at the end.

Add support for OnlyOffice in the same way or similar as Viewing and Editing in Zoho docs has been implemented. This will allow a developer to set up their own OnlyOffice (community version) document editing server where full editing and creation of WORD, EXCEL, PP can take place

Not only does this bring new reporting and document dynamics into AwareIM, but security around creation and editing of Word documents are in the hands of the developer and one does not have to rely on a third party for strategic processes that involves document creation and editing

Furthemore having this feature built into AwareIm will expose AwareIM to the Only Office Community and all it its subscribers. This will result in increased awareness of AwareIM and more developers coming on board. Currently there are plugins that exist in Only Office for other platforms such as Sharepoint,Alfresco,OwnCloud,NextCloud,Liferay. Implementing an Only Office feature similar to the ZOHO feature should be easy enough

So having this functionality inside AwareIM where a developer has the choice to run their own community server or subscribe to other Only Office paid offerings should become a high priority and strategy in the name of Awareness and gaining more developers and end users on board.

If you want to do it dynamically, you probably need to leave rules alone and implement it using a Javascript. This should be really easy to do, if you know the API (which is documented, I think).
