Is there a trick to formatting a Date when Grouping in Grid?

I'm grouping on a simple DATE field in SQL Server.
Haven't used Grouping much, and can't remember if I'm missing something.
Why is the date showing up like this?
Almost latest build, I'm on 2629 out of 2631

The default on the attribute is MM-dd-yy and I overrode it in the grid, to no avail.

I just had precisely the same issue.

Ended up creating an additional TEXT Attribute As_STRING(MyDate,'yyyy')

i would think thats got to be a bug.

nowhere in Aware have I ever seen dates formatted as this:
Mon Sep 30 2019 00:00:00 GMT+0000 (Greenwich Mean Time)
