Anyone tried the Stripe plugin? Think its worth $500?

Post by Jaymer »

I want to use stripe, so I'm going to investigate that first, but I may move to something else.

The new plugin (although not on the website's price page) seems to be more than $500 (plus 1/2 of that in Maint every year).

Any alternatives to call Stripe?

It looks like a nice plugin, what I am missing is the option to make payments via the Stripe api and if that is added, I will buy it. It sounds a bit expensive though if its really $500.

As far as I know its $200, confirmed by Vlad. Unless of course it's changed

i asked him yesterday.
the website says non-profits get a 35% disc on aware.
so i asked him the price for a non-profit and he said $400, and i re-emailed him to verify that was non-profit.
so the regular price is somewhere above $500, but i don't know exactly.

Well then its changed, I have an email from him saying its $200 on (JAN 19) :(

I have a keen interest in this plugin for the kickback from Stripe on invoice payment workflow on client sites, that's why I was evaluating back then

$130 non-profit price would be nice, plus $65 a year.
Thats doable for these guys.
They don't markup the transaction fees and I'm not going to keep a % either.
Maybe Vlad will clarify here.

Transaction fees on credit cards are not transparent, so if you don't claim someone else will.
By setting yourself up with Stripe you are participating in the merchant fee they would normally charge, your client does not incur a higher transaction fee, Stripe are kick backing you a portion of their fee to the client - that's the way I understand it.

So you are a kind of reseller for Stripe

The non-profit already has a stripe account.
and with that the API keys.
It was setup directly online with Stripe. No agency or referral.

I figure those same API keys would be put into the AIM plugin and it would just work.
Perhaps it would be good to look at the Docs for setting up this plugin. Maybe it explains if "we" have to setup some account to get the kickback?
Can "we" still get a kickback if someone already has a Stripe account or does it have to be a new acct?

I don't think so, you would have to convert them onto a new contract that works with your system. There should be no difference in the transaction fee they are currently paying, or maybe there is .... but it's worth a try, especially if it's the same deal. It would be interesting to compare the two deals

did you watch this video, it seems to say quite a bit about the setup procedure https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4m9YNPrpsvk

The price of the plugin has changed since the email to AC/DC. It is $500 and it's worth it. See awareim.com/product-options
