AwareIM & Business Intelligence integration

Post by BenHayat »

Has anyone integrated AwareIM Application with any third party Business Intelligence (BI) Tools?

IF Yes,
1) What tools are you using?
2) Is it integrated in such a way, that user uses the tool within Aware?
3) Does tool directly connects to your DB or do you prepare data (i.e. CSV or XML or JSON) to feed it?
4) Is the tool installed on your Aware Server or on the cloud and use REST to feed it?
5) what about pricing in SaaS environment?

Any other information will be great!
Thanks!

I'm now investigation Power BI from Microsoft. Especially the embedded model.

But I still would like to hear if anyone has done any custom integration with other brands and how you get data from Aware to that system.

This is a nice article: https://blog.capterra.com/top-8-free-an ... -software/

And from these solutions I would go with Jasper (Bruce made a great tutorial how to integrate it in Aware)

Cheers,
Same George ;)
Thx,
George

But this is related to the reporting of Jasper Report (Studio * server) and not Business Intelligence part of JasperSoft. Embedded BI is a different product.

If you click through to the Download page for Jasper Embedded BI it takes you to the Jasper Reports Server download page.

As I see is pretty the same with BI : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Ru2JtkFqCM
You have to build the URL and embed the iframe in your app.

Thanks for that info. I'm supposed to have a talk with them today at 2:00 PM and I'll make sure they're not just selling me a report write as a BI toolset.
The one Microsoft has is very nice, but for developers, to embed their data modeling, formulas and chart into their package, requires their Azure BI Embed service and can get expensive quickly.

Just went through the one-hour demo. Now, I need to talk to sales guy about pricing as they don't publish pricing (sucks).

But it looks like a nice fit for AwareIM.

This is the way to go for embedding in Aware (hopefully works). Via visualize-js

What doesn't look so good is the price.

The Pro Edition for a 2 core CPU:
Production: $16,000 / Year
Development: $8,000 / Year.

I think ever since Tibco bought them, all the Jasper products went up the roof.

OMG...cheap...I want 10pcs..

Seriously, their products are awesome. The community version does not support any kind of BI? For example limited to x dasboards (would be very helpful for customers to see in action the power of BI before they buy the commercial version).
