Reference attribute in reference list

Post by nickh »

Hi folks

In a parent object screen, I display a list of child objects. If the child object has a reference attribute (typically, a peer relationship):

1. Sometimes the reference attribute is not visible in the display results window (so I can't select it for display in the child objects), or

2. If the reference attribute is visible in the display results window, it is null in operational mode.

Am I doing something wrong? Is this a limitation?

thanks

Sure...

Parent object: Customer
Child object: Account
An attribute in Account is Type which references the Account Types BO.

The form for the Customer object displays a list of Account objects. One of the attributes I would like to display in this list is Type.

Typically, the Type column is blank even though a valid type actually exists on the Account object.

As mentioned in the previous note, sometimes the Type attribute isn't even available to be displayed in the Display Results configuration window.

I have an inkling this all may have something to do with Shortcuts (which I am yet to explore!).

Any advice?

Yes, you're right. Looks like you need to learn about shortcuts.

Suggestion at this point is to read the manual & look at the sample applications & see how they use shortcuts.

If you have specific questions after that, feel free to ask them here.
