404 error displaying form

Post by tkilshaw »

I added a new form to my Account object, and set it for use by SalesManager logins.

When I log in as a sales manager I get this eror:

HTTP Status 404 - /BASTestDomainCAT_tm_Account_179_Main: SalesManager_SalesManager_SalesManager.jsp

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

type Status report

message /BASTestDomainCAT_tm_Account_179_Main: SalesManager_SalesManager_SalesManager.jsp

description The requested resource (/BASTestDomainCAT_tm_Account_179_Main: SalesManager_SalesManager_SalesManager.jsp) is not available.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Apache Tomcat/5.0.28

The form in question is Previewable without problem. Restarting Aware does not fix the problem.

The problem is that I had a space or spaces in the form's name.

Aware does not complain in the configurator, but creates the error at run time.

There are probably other characters to be avoided in the name of a form too.

Yes, you are right. We wil change the Configuration Tool not to allow spaces and other symbols in form names. In the meantime please do not use spaces in the names of forms, visual perspectives and form sections.

Upon further investigation we have discovered that it is not space symbols that is causing problems, but ":" symbols. Spaces are OK. Please disregard the previous reply.

Please do not use special symbols such as ":", "@", "#" in any names. We'll be adding necessary checks to the Configuration Tool.
