Squiffy... it already does, I run the config tool on Ubuntu - no problems, just download the Linux version
Rod. Aware 8.6 (latest build), Developer Edition, on OS Linux (Ubuntu) using GUI hosted on AWS EC2, MYSQL on AWS RDS
Re: ►vNext◄ Proposals [Updated]
1. I would love to see a re-designed 21st century "Report Designer", or seamlessly integrate with Jasper Server (I know we can do this now, but the lack of documentation makes it a bit harder).
Thx,
George

Re: ►vNext◄ Proposals [Updated]
Weblike, its easy to integrate to Jasper. I use that all the time. I can either spend 10 min with you and you will know all you need, or, if others are interested, can do a short webinar. Jasper is SO much more powerful and can easily be integrated so the end user does NOT even know they are calling Jasper.

6) Version Date:
Each version (minor/major) should show "Last Modified Date" next to it in the tree.
I would like to see this much more enhanced. ALL items in a BS should have a date of last change. So after working for an hour or 3 and I see thinks are not behaving properly I would like to be able to see what procedures, queries, forms, etc. have been changed. Ideally there would be a view of ALL objects (sort of like the RULES tree, with the DOL change that can be sorted.

Re: ►vNext◄ Proposals
Conditional FINDs might still be desirable, but the example query above can be coded as:BenHayat wrote: 12) *** Conditional FIND statement in Queries:
Please allow conditional FIND statements in the queries. For example:
If LoggedInUser.SearchOption='Basic' Then FIND ALL Item
ELSE
FIND Item Where Item.NewItem='Yes'
Right now we have to create many separate queries because we can't have *IF* condition in our Query FIND statement.
FIND Item WHERE LoggedInRegularUser.SearchOption='Basic' OR Item.NewItem='Yes'

Re: ►vNext◄ Proposals [Updated]
+1000 for a Full version spent on improving the IDE and as such making us/the developers more efficient and our businesses more profitable. (Less time spent on same size of work = more profit)
I'd like to see more Time Saving Features in the IDE. Of the Top of my Head:
* Proper HTML/CSS editor with Context Assistant that always works, and basic html/CSS tag or attribute suggestion.
* Ability to Copy Selected Elements of a Form or Query, Specifically the ability to Copy ALL the Column settings/Setup but nothing else. Currently if You setup the columns for a query on a specific query and then create multiple different copies of that query for different menu's and then decide to change something you have to do it in 10 places. You don't always want to use 'Copy Settings' as that copies the Operations and Header and Styling as well.
* Reduced level of dialog boxes.
* Ability to Turn Columns on/of in the configurator view and to be able to sort on any of the columns.
One other major thing that I think is needed (Performance wise) is the ability to update multiple Attributes simultaneously from a process. Let me explain... When you do a Create or Enter new... All the rules for the attributes are evaluated once when the object are created.
However, when you do an update you have to update the Attributes 1 by one and then Aware Evaluates the rules of the object after each update. This can be very performance intensive if you have lot's of rules and lots of attributes you are updating.
We need the ability to do a UPDATE SET Attr=1, Attr2=TEXT, Attr3=Yes, Attr4=500
Instead of doing them one by one and triggering the same rules 4 times.
Hope that makes sense.
