displaying retrieve data

how do i retrieve a specific attribute from my query?

on my main form, i have an empid from Table_A and a button that calls a process.

The process is 'PICK FROM peoplelist_query'

after they ticked the box and press OK, i want to update the Table_A.empid to Peoplelist.EmpID.

I cannot use the dynamic choices option on the empid attribte as this only display one attribute. The user wants the query as they can use filter options as well.
