Updating a BO

OK I have done something wrong here but I cannot see what!

I have made changes to a BO and now I want to update it for the changes to take affect on existing data.

I have a process called ContactsUpdate
Find All Contacts
Upate Contacts

When I run this process all I receive is a 'Connection Failed' box?

What have I missed?

Hi,

I assume you have got rules attached to the BO which will make the changes for you - otherwise "update" will do zilch.

Other tha that - your process should work. Have you looked in the log files to see what is happening?

some more detail would be helpful

Thanks for the reply.

Yes I do have rules on the BO this looks at data validation ie lower case to upper case, spaces at the end of a string and a few others.

Not sure what more information I can give you apart from when I try to run the process to update the BO it fails with the 'Connection failed box'?

What other info would you need to help?

Unless it's a really dodgy connection, it sounds like you may have a logic loop somewhere and your connection is timing out before the process finishes.

How many records? and have you tried using the "In Batches of" switch to reduce the time the process is tying up the resources.

I'd try the update in smaller batches and see what happens

The log viewer may give you a better idea of what is going on
