I'd like to see Aware use GUIDs for all of its IDs.
There is a Java API for this now so that should pose no big problems. I have been using my own GUID generator for a while now. It avoids all sorts of import problems.
They are bigger and take more space in the database and probably slow processing down a bit, but they are really invaluable when used.
