Invalid path for a attribute type document

i created a attribute 'printedinvoice', type is document, the value is calculated, and the initial value is 'invoice' which is a PDF template. When printing a invoice from existing data, everything is fine, the invoice is created and saved but when i create a new business object where this attribute is part of, i get the following error message:

Internal error. Invalid attr path: PrintedInvoice.DOCTYPE

this happens as soon as i click the create button.
