Hi there...I need some suggestions...
My aware application produces customer letters which are word template-based.
In execution mode when I produce a list of say 10 letters, instead of spooling them to the printer, the system prompts me to save each individual letter as a .xps file!
Other printing functions such as the standard print button are fine.
I would really appreciate EVERY idea you have on trying to debug this problem.
many thanks
Anyone running awareIM under Vista? Please Help!

Nickh,
Several items could be causing this. As support noted this is a Vista problem. Be it that I use Vista but mine is "tweaked" removing the unnecessary items, and there are many, that windows added into Vista.
So lets start with the meat and potatoes...
What version of Vista 64bit/32bit
What Word Version?
( note that word 2003 and 2007 save files by default with a different file ext (.doc and .docx))
Is the Service pack applied?
Are you running aware on a local machine?
Cheers,

Vista info
Thanks for the reply and sorry for the delay...my IT guy tells me it's:
Vista Version: 32Bit Ultimate Edition
Word Version: 2007 (and he's sure he has changed the settings to save as .doc as default because he is aware of the .docx issues)
Windows Vista is up to service pack one
Is this helpful?
best regards
Nick

Possibly a default printer issues?
I'm not sure I understand your problem fully. But.....
Doesnt' the newer versions of word have a print driver loaded so that you can print to xps. Kind of like the dozens of print drivers you can install that allow you to print to PDF? I could be wrong because I use Word 2000 and it doesn't have this feature but I thought I saw this feature on a colleages newer machine.
If I am making a correct assumption here. You may want to make sure that your default printer is not the xps driver. If you don't need the xps printer then delete it and see if you docs spool to another printer.
If so that would be where you should troubleshoot.
