Ordering sample app:search via drop down field in left pane?

I modified the Ordering sample app to use a drop down for first name -- see screen show at:

Is there any way to feed the drop down field's values from AwareIM?

You can use the XML interface (see Programmer's Guide) to do this.

That is probably beyond my current technical abilities. Do there happen to be any examples of this type of thing in any of the sample apps?

There are no examples in the sample apps but there are examples in the Programmer's Reference Guide. If it's critical for you we can do it.
