Add Form

Post by geoff »

I totally can't seem to get this:

I want a BO called Utilities
I want it to have several Forms where admin can create new data, eg
Products - name, size, etc
Staff - name, position, etc
Labour - job type, rate, etc

I tried using "Add form" but it does not appear when I want to "Create Object" in test mode. All I can see is "Utilities" and I only get the first form (Products).
I tried using Form Sections and what shows up in test "Create Object" is exactly what I want visually. BUT Products, Staff etc are NOT part of the same BO in real life!
If I create all separate BO's, that works as well, but is not what I want.
I know this is basic but please - how is this done in AwareIM???

geoff,

When you edit your Products form of the Utilities BO, look at the top section where it says "The system will automatically use the form for:". You will see that "Creation of business object" is checked there. That controls the default form.

To create a new BO instance using one of the other forms, use the ENTER NEW action in a process. See page 303 of the User Guide.

To edit an existing BO instance, see EDIT action on page 304 of User Guide where you can use various forms of a BO.
