Email questions

Post by pixerp »

If I want to use AwareIM to build an Email client application, how can I define a separate Email address for each user to be used when sending emails (From address) or when receiving emails (IMAP/POP account credentials) ?

Thanks

pixerp,
how can I define a separate Email address for each user to be used when sending emails (From address)
Couldn't you define the from email address for each LoggedInRegularUser and use that as the from address?

Re: question 2 --- I haven't used incoming email functions.

Yes, and more precisely I would like to do the following.

Incoming Email

. define RegularUser.EmailAddress & RegularUser.EmailPassword

. use <<LoggedInRegularUser.EmailAddress>> in SystemSettings.IncomingEmailUserName and <<LoggedInRegularUser.EmailPassword>> in SystemSettings.Incom.....

Outgoing Email

same as above but in SystemSettings.OutgoingEmailFromAddress ....

Or maybe there are better ways to do it ?

Testing is somewaht tedious, as AwareIM server automatically connects to the configured mail server every 20 min. !!
-> How can we change this value ?

Thanks

Support,

1- How often is received email checked by default?
2- Is there a way to change the frequency that received email is checked?
3- Is there any way to force a check of received email?

Suggestion -- it would be helpful to have this info in the User Guide. IO know I read it on the forum here sometime, but I can't seem to find it.

Thanks!
