handheld interface?

Post by tford »

Has anyone exported / interfaced any AwareIM info to a handheld unit?

Thanks,
Tom

Handheld access

You might want to check out VisualCE from Syware. I have been able to creat a handheld app that updates aware data. Note that you have to use a database other than Derby, as Derby does not allow outside connections when it is running under AwareIM. MySql with the ODBC driver works well. It does not handle transfer of images very well though, but is creat for other data collection and update.

Thanks jkovar for the tip. Would you mind describing your application & any guesstimate of hours it took to achieve. I find it helps me to learn more about AwareIM as I learn about how other folks are using it.

BTW - product jkovar referenced is at http://www.syware.com/visualce.php

Thanks!

Maybe an open source SW would be interesting :

I'd be glad if you share your experience...

Are you synchronising the Visual CE handheld app directly to the Aware database using the Visual CE OID field as the Aware Internal ID for the relevant business object / table ?
