Hi Guys,
Is it possible to search an object starting directly from the extended search. The standerd search for a customer is to restricted. They need to be able for example enter hux into say an author attribute and be presented with all the authors that contain hux.

Hi,
Yes a quary has been configured and the query start with showing, Title, Author, Publisher.
If a title has 3 authors and a user enters 1 author into the author field no titles show. However if you then use the reduce/extend function and extend the search a title will show. The user wants the quary to show the reduce/extend function at the start of the queary. ie the reduce/extend function becomes the primary method of searching for information.

If they don't type anything into the author or title field then all titles will be shown. Or am I still missing something?
The extend search functionality just adds the entered string into the previous query with OR keyword. So if the user entered "String1" and then extended search to "String2" the resuling query becomes:
FIND Object Where Object.Attribute = 'String1' OR Object.Attribute='String2'
